We’re hiring in NYC.  Interested in joining us?

Since you’re here on our website, you already know that Redpoint is a boutique agency that specializes in travel and hospitality.  And you’ve probably already seen that our global portfolio of clients includes destinations, resorts, attractions, tourism associations, and more...from the Atlantic Canada Tourism Partnership and Kennebunkport Resort Collection, to Morey's Piers & Beachfront Waterparks and the US Tour Operators Association. If you have a passion for travel, we'll feed it with gusto.

Currently we're seeking a Senior Account Executive or Account Supervisor for our PR team (minimum six years agency or in-house experience). You'll do what publicists traditionally do - media relations, program development, events, brand image management - but if you’re interested, you may also have the opportunity to get your hands dirty in many other disciplines. We provide clients with all facets of digital marketing (social media, influencer programs, web development, email campaigns, online advertising, etc.), consulting (economic development, business strategy, etc.), and training (marketing, operations, guest service, etc.). So, there is much room for professional growth at Redpoint, as we cross train among account teams often and foster new skill development.

Our staffers are curious, low-drama, passionate about securing media coverage, excellent listeners, resourceful problem solvers, and influential communicators. We laugh a lot. We enjoy each other's company. We have each other's backs. We play lawn games in the office. And we KILL IT for clients, every single day. Catch our vibe by visiting our Facebook page.

If you think you're a good match for us, please send a letter explaining why, along with your resume, to hr@redpointpr.com. In the letter, please explain your level of PR experience and familiarity with pitching print, online, and broadcast journalists. Knowledge of travel media and travel-related social media channels is a plus. No phone calls, please.

‘Twas So Much More Than “Building a Website”

When The Common Man Inns of Plymouth and Claremont asked us to build them a new website, we responded by first diving deeply under the hood of their ENTIRE business.  Why?  Because a website can’t just look pretty.  It should 1) be user friendly; 2) solve a variety of “in real life” operational problems with suitable functionality; 3) place visible, findable emphasis on key business drivers, and 4) be strong and nimble enough to fuel a powerful digital marketing program.  So not only did we end up building them two websites instead of one, but we solved a bunch of problems they weren’t even aware they had.  And…oh yeah… we made sure the websites are VERY pretty.  Check ‘em out:

The Debut of Live @ Redpoint HQ

Inspired by the fun and fabulous Tiny Desk Concert series of NPR, Redpoint launched our own private concert series.  Every month, visiting musicians from all genres – jazz, country, folk, a capella, rock, and more – come perform an exclusive set for us at Global HQ.  Do we have a blast?  Yes.  Is booze involved?  Of course.  Do we sometimes stick around afterward and play lawn games in our central corridor? Indeed we do.  Click here to see clips from some of the artists we’ve featured.

Redpoint + Vermont = Besties

Is it possible to say you have a “residency” at an annual tourism conference?  Because we’re back – AGAIN – speaking at the 2016 Vermont Tourism Summit on April 13-14 in Killington.  Ross and Chris promise to bring their A-game on a variety of topics, including Old School Communication Strategy for New School Media, Be a Better Leader, and Branding: Don’t Just Exist…Really LIVE.  What will Chris wear for these presentations? Well, at the ABA Marketplace Convention in January, she wore a fuzzy leopard print bathrobe for her presentation...so we'd say wardrobe is anyone's guess at this point.

Making Print Sexy Again

DM_maps.jpg

Welcome to the Redpoint family, Discovery Map International!  We are pretty wild about those clever, cartoon-style maps that are like a tourist’s bible in more than 130 resort destinations throughout North America.  So when they asked for our help with brand development, PR, social media marketing, and franchise relations…it took us exactly two seconds to say “Yes, please.”  And then we rolled around on the floor with all the maps to truly immerse ourselves in the endeavor.  Because, yes…we are pretty geeky about maps.

Hello, Newfoundland & Labrador.

The signature Red Box is headed to this enchanting Atlantic Canadian province, folks.  Chris is carrying it across the border to share Redpoint’s expertise, hugs, prizes, and surprises as the keynote speaker at the 2016 Hospitality Newfoundland & Labrador Annual Conference.  Does she feel like a diva headed to speak in a destination that has its very own time zone?  Indeed she does.  Sigh…there will be no living with her after this.

Good Business Strategy is Delicious

Whoa.  After leading two successful educational missions for the renowned Taste of Nova Scotia group (Finger Lakes Mission crew shown here), Redpoint has been asked to create and host an entire conference for them in their central Halifax hub.  Ross and Chris have donned their professor caps, and are headed up to Nova Scotia on October 21 and 22 to lead the first “Communications and Commerce in Culinary Tourism” Conference, followed by a day of one-on-one “marketing therapy” appointments for members.

Hello, New Brunswick.

The Miramichi River Tourism Association has tapped Redpoint to help drive tourism arrivals to the region.  To achieve this, we’ll be doing all sorts of serious business stuff… assessing digital analytics, refining brand position, leading focus groups, orchestrating region-wide training, crafting an integrated marketing strategy and more.  But first?  We needed to go kiss all the locals hello.  Can you blame us?

New Jersey Has Some Interesting Characters

When Six Flags Great Adventure & Safari & Hurricane Harbor called upon Redpoint’s consulting division this summer to help sculpt the theme park’s menu of team building offerings, we kicked things off with an in-depth site tour.  This little guy captured our hearts during the Safari exploration, but y’all can rest easy:  we left baby and mama at peace and well out of any wacky team-building strategy.  Gotta show respect for wildlife, people.

Redpoint…Live and Unplugged.

We get invited to a lot of parties...but how strange that they always ask us to bring our knowledge, a presentation, our favorite clicker...and sometimes beer and a jazz band. If you've never been to a Redpoint keynote, workshop, or boot camp, you should come see what all the fuss is about. Our motto is that learning doesn't have to be boring. Come check us out at a conference near you in the next few months. We'll be presenting in Saint Lucia, Cape Cod, Vermont, Nova Scotia (twice!), New Brunswick, and Louisville KY. Email us at info@redpointpr.com for details.

Oh Yes…It’s On:  Marketing Boot Camp 2015

Redpoint is hosting a Marketing Mini Boot Camp in three locations this June.  In just four hours, you'll learn secrets for these six critical things:

  • Making smart marketing budget choices
  • Captioning social media photos so people care
  • How to evaluate journalist freebie requests (and say no gracefully)
  • Using landing pages to make your pay-per-click ROI stronger
  • How to get more website referral traffic
  • How to use hashtags correctly... #curbyourenthuiasmplease

We've watched hospitality professionals stress out over these six things so often that it breaks our little marketing hearts.  So... we're sharing all our secrets with friends like you.  Join us on June 15 (Fairlee, VT), June 16 (Boston, MA), or June 17 (Pittsfield, MA) from 10am to 2pm.  It's just $75 (or $50 if you're a NEIRA member), and it includes lunch...because Redpoint rarely does anything without food.  Space is limited to keep the group size intimate and interactive.

For full program and registration information, visit http://www.redpointpr.com/travel-marketing-boot-camp/.

And to those not in the New England area...let us know if you want us to bring the Boot Camp to your region soon!

Redpoint…Uncaged at the Hotel on North Opening Party

These five suspicious looking Redpointers are the crew behind the marketing, branding, and design of the new Hotel on North in The Berkshires.  The latest project by Main Street Hospitality, this hotel brand was given its visual identity, voice, and sense of character by Redpoint.  From key cards and signage to in-room guest book, collateral, icon imagery, and all digital expression…we had a blast collaborating on this project with the Main Street team.  The best part?  At the opening party, we snapped a victory photo in the hotel’s vintage birdcage elevator…which has been artfully repurposed into a nook for private cocktails.  Can you see why we love this place?  Check it out:  www.hotelonnorth.com.

Nova Scotia…the Food is to Die for…

We will do just about anything for our clients…even play the victim in a Murder Mystery Wine Tour.  Chris got the opportunity to do just that when Redpoint led a recent Best Practices Mission to the Finger Lakes for the delicious organization Taste of Nova Scotia.  For a week, we shepherded a group of 16 delegates from the province through behind-the-scenes learning experiences with top executives at leading businesses in the Finger Lakes region…from Wegmans and Red Jacket to the New York Wine & Culinary Center and the Rochester Lilac Festival.  A good time – and priceless education – was had by all.  And Chris came back from the dead just in time for the wine tasting.  She’s no dummy.

Hey New Jersey…you ready to have some fun with Redpoint?

The New Jersey Travel Industry Association has asked Chris to be the opening keynote speaker at their 2015 conference.  The hitch?  They want us to bring a big surprise for their attendees.   Is Redpoint up to the task?  You betcha.  Ssssshhhh.  We’ll say no more.  But we did hear Chris sourcing dancing bears on the phone the other day.  Although, that could have been for another project…

‘Tis the Season…to Cook Up Charity Donations

Thanks to the generosity of longtime Redpoint client Robinson Home Products, more kids will be reading books in 2015.  Robinson graciously let us host a Friends & Family Holiday Tag Sale here at global HQ in NYC to sell off all the cookware, cutlery, bakeware, and kitchen gadgets that were still hanging around the Redpoint sample closet.  In four days, we raked in $1,500…one spatula at a time…and all proceeds went to fund our wellredkids literacy program for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island.

Well, Hellooooo Berkshires!

We’re excited to welcome Berkshire-based Main Street Hospitality Group (MSHG) to the Redpoint family.  In addition to helping this newly-formed hospitality company map out strategic direction and portfolio marketing and management for its Red Lion Inn, Porches Inn, and Williams Inn properties, we’re also super-duper psyched to be launching its newest property, Hotel on North, a stunning boutique hotel that will foster the emerging renaissance of Pittsfield, MA.  By repurposing the storied Besse-Clarke Department Store building with dramatic interior construction and thoughtful, clever amenities and services, MSHG will create a hub of vibrant life in the downtown Pittsfield area.  Stay tuned for more info, but the question right now is… Will you “Do North?”

Redpoint Bucket List Update…Name a Ben + Jerry’s Flavor:  Check.

When the Vermont Ski Areas Association asked us to keynote their annual conference, they were expecting us to bring a surprise…they just weren’t expecting it to be THAT BIG.  We conspired with our friends at Ben +Jerry’s to create an ice cream flavor in honor of the association, created and served for one day only, exclusively to the attendees at the conference.  We named it Vermont Powder (what else can you name a ski-themed ice cream?) and it featured a vanilla base with a hint of coconut taste, white chocolate chunks, coconut flakes.  It was served as a surprise during the speech, topped with a dark chocolate ski boot or snowboard made by our friends at Laughing Moon Chocolates.  And the piece de resistance?  We wrote a song about it, and had our favorite jazz band The Hot Sardines sing it.  Check it out!

Redpoint Rocks It Out in Vermont

When the state of Vermont asked us to share our expertise on “creating brand evangelists using the magic of surprise” with the attendees of the 2014 Vermont Travel Industry Conference (VTIC), we fulfilled their request using one simple strategy:  Go big or go home.  Special thanks goes to the VTIC planning committee for trusting Redpoint to pull off this crazy stunt at their conference.  Long live calculated risk takers!

We’re Tickled Pink to Represent Montauk Blue.

What’s better than a beachfront hotel in Montauk?  A renovated, rebranded beachfront hotel in Montauk.  We’re helping the venerable Ocean Beach Resort transform into the Montauk Blue Hotel this summer, with a chic new look and a thoroughly groovy vibe.  And with a view like this from the rooms, we’re hoping that multiple site visits will be required of us.  Keep an eye on our Facebook page for transformation photos.

Redpoint Awarded Top Honors at HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala

More than a thousand entries were submitted, but only twelve PR campaigns were chosen as the “best of the best” for a Platinum Award in the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association’s annual Adrian Awards competition for exceptional work in public relations.  That’s why we’re so enthusiastically honored to have received this award again – it’s our fifth! – at the black tie gala award ceremony on February 24, 2014 for results achieved on behalf of client Woodstock Inn & Resort, a stunning eight-page feature in Martha Stewart Living.  We also snagged five golds, a silver, and a bronze for our work for the US Tour Operators Association, Kennebunkport Resort Collection, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Times Square, and Oceania Cruises.  Rest assured…we broke out the bubbly.

Surprise!...Redpoint to Keynote at the 2014 Vermont Travel Industry Conference

Following a memorable appearance as the keynote speaker in 2011, Redpoint owner Chris Miranda has been asked back for an encore performance at this year’s VTIC.  Her engaging blend of education and entertainment has made her a “fan favorite” at this conference, and with a topic entitled “From Customers to Evangelists…The Magic of Surprise in Guest Service,” there is bound to be some unexpected hoopla mixed into the presentation.  Last time, Chris brought signature doughnuts from The Donut Pub, Redpoint’s favorite doughnut haunt in NYC, for all the attendees.  What’s on tap for this year?  We’re not telling.  You’ll have to come and be surprised.  To register, click here

From Googly Eyes to Titanium Knives:  Redpoint Launches 101 New Products at 2014 IHHS

Longtime client – nearly a decade together and still in love – Robinson Home Products must have eaten their Wheaties before creating this year’s lineup of new products launching at the International Home & Housewares Show.  Innovative solutions for people who hate soggy cereal, large salad bowls that collapse to a one-inch height for easy storage, and the coolest frozen popsicle makers we’ve ever seen…the extensive array of colorful, unique, and useful items is like winning the lottery for PR professionals – so much to pitch, so little time.  We handle Robinson’s trade show marketing from soup to nuts, so keep your eyes on our Facebook page for a “from the booth” report of all the promotions, giveaways, social media, and integrated marketing antics we’ll be orchestrating on their behalf.  C’mon…you know you want a Googly Eye Chip Clip.

Saint Lucia is Feeling the Love from Redpoint

On the heels of Saint Lucia’s 2013 “Love, Elevated” Wedding Symposium – for which we saturated PR and social media channels faster than you can say “I do” – Redpoint takes to cyberspace again to leverage the island’s starring role in the 2014 Season 18 finale of ABC’s The Bachelor.  It’s the first time in history that the show is returning to a location for its season finale (Saint Lucia starred in Season 14 as well), and we think that deserves its own social media program to bring things like the island’s Red Rose Trail to life, don’t you?  Go ahead…you can say “I do”… we won’t giggle.

A Delicious Partnership:  Redpoint and Taste of Nova Scotia

Exciting news! Redpoint is being tapped to plan and host a week-long educational mission in May 2014 for a cadre of culinary and tourism delegates from the Atlantic Canadian province of Nova Scotia. Officially entitled “Best Practices for Experiential Tourism & Product Tours,” this informative and yummy mission is a collaborative initiative offered through Taste of Nova Scotia, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, and Nova Scotia Economic and Rural Development and Tourism. We’ll be taking the delegates up the coast of New England from Boston to Portland, introducing the delegates to new experiences, industry leaders, and business development opportunities. Education?…check. Culinary surprises?…check. Fun?...double check.

Redpoint Helps MSC Cruises Say "Buon Giorno!" to Miami

msc_fiat_hero_shot.jpg

On November 19th, the Redpoint gang was on hand at PortMiami orchestrating the media attention for the arrival of the Italian cruise ship MSC Divina to her new home base, which marks the first time MSC Cruises will have a ship based in the US year round. How did we help get out hordes of press to come and cover the news, when new cruise ships at PortMiami are pretty much a dime a dozen? With a little help from another Italian company…in a really cool way. Ever seen those Fiat cars that can drive on the water? Yep…they were tapped to be the ship's escort into port. The arresting visuals scored the cover of the Miami Herald, a quarter-page photo in the Wall Street Journal, the home page of MSN.com, and more. How do you say "client is doing a happy dance?" in Italian?

Redpoint Makes a Sweet Match for USTOA

The US Tour Operators Association wanted to tap into a viral community, but had no credible platform in that arena. Viral video sensation "Dancing Matt" Harding wanted to travel the world to remote locations, but needed the means to make it happen. Enter Redpoint, and…voila. We put these two perfect dance partners together and the resulting video scored massive press coverage (including the cover of USA Today's "Life" section, but we're not bragging…), and is gaining more views on YouTube every day. Check out the video here.

Redpoint Wins Big at 2013 HSMAI Adrian Awards

Little ol' Redpoint made a great BIG splash at the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International's Adrian Awards Gala on January 29, 2013. With nine awards for 2012 campaigns and PR results, including five Golds, two Silvers, and one Bronze – plus a coveted Platinum Award, which is an honor given each year to a special few "best of the best" entries – Redpoint's sweeping win was among the highest received for the evening. Many thanks go to clients US Tour Operators Association, Ripley's Believe It or Not! Times Square, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Kennebunkport Resort Collection/Tides Beach Club, and Simon Pearce for their collaboration in producing this award-winning work! Owners Vickie and Chris were thrilled to go up on stage and accept the Platinum Award for the Relaunch of the Simon Pearce Mill at Quechee in the Wake of Hurricane Irene. Read the case study here.

Some New Friends in New England

Summer Shot.jpg

You know how we feel about Vermont…well, we're delighted to welcome the Essex Resort and Spa to the Redpoint family! This place takes its culinary offerings seriously, from the pastry case of fresh-baked goodies next to the front desk to the two – count 'em two – teaching kitchens. Amazing cooking classes, hot air balloon rides, world-class tennis, gorgeous and pampering spa, Essex Resort and Spa really ups the ante for locavores with its own chicken coop, honey bees, herb and vegetable gardens. And, their own farmer! A little closer to our Soho home is the Water's Edge Resort & Spa in Westbrook, CT, with a private beach and singularly stunning new two-bedroom villas we'll be launching this year. The sweeping green lawn and bright blue water of the Sound is a perfect backdrop for the classic white shingle architecture of the resort. We can't wait to dig our toes in the sand and lap up the summer sun. (Did we mention the private beach?)
